Celebrating the harmonious songs, vibrant dances and epic storytelling of the island nations of Aotearoa’s Pacific communities at the Auckland Town Hall

Pacific Spirit features heritage and contemporary Pacific performing arts performed by intergenerational artists and curated by the creative powerhouse Pacific Underground, Aotearoa’s longest running Pacific performing arts collective.

Experience the brilliant beats and swaying hips of the Anuanua Performing Arts Troupe, and the stirring songs and storytelling from Primanavia, a cultural force from the heart of Fiji, Three Star Nation, Wāhine Toa Siva Afi featuring World Fireknife Champion: Melanie Tia, Feohianga Alonga and much more!

Hailing from the Cook Islands, Anuanua Performing Arts Troupe consists of former dance champions and the reigning Aitu Drumming Champion here in Auckland who come together to express their cultural heritage and artistic vision through the power of dance and music. With a diverse repertoire that showcases the rich traditions of Cook Island culture alongside modern influences, the troupe has garnered acclaim for their captivating performances that transport audiences to new realms of creativity, emotions and humour. 

Three Star Nation, a team of passionate Hakupu leaders committed to nurturing the potential of Niue youth and families by offering a diverse range of programs and services tailored to their needs and aspirations. Their mission is to reconnect, inspire and empower Niue youth and families across the diaspora to thrive as Tagata Niue. 

Established in 2020, a group of passionate women, banded together to ignite and strengthen the fire within and birthed an all-women's ailao afi team, Wāhine Toa Siva Afi. Embracing a craft that is predominantly performed by males, Wāhine Toa Siva Afi graces the stage alongside their very own Wāhine-Toa Drumline, with the sound of the roaring flame. 

PRIMANAVIA combines two prominent music entities Pasifika Prima Voce and their exceptional vocal performance prowess and Mana Via with their rich repertoire of Fijian Itaukei indigenous melodies. The visionary founders of both groups, united by familial ties, envision PRIMANAVIA as a platform to empower aspiring vocalists across Fiji. Through their collaborative efforts, the founders seek to showcase the vibrancy of Fijian music on the global stage with pride and belonging.

The Auckland Gospel Choir showcases a diverse and versatile repertoire of the gospel sounds here in Aotearoa/New Zealand with the Te Reo Māori language, local Pacific sounds, also gospel with a more choral sound & paying respect to one of the great names in gospel music from the U.S, their own rendition of a Richard Smallwood classic.

Sau E Siva Creatives represents storytelling through Sāmoan Siva (dance) and theatre. Led by Troy Tu'ua, Ida Ati, Epine Bob Savea, Italia Hunt and Leki Jackson-Bourke, all graduates of the defunct Pacific Institute of Performing Arts (P.I.P.A), they recently celebrated their milestone 10 year anniversary with their latest original show 'Manamea'.
